High Cascade

"High Cascade" I call it "high" because it's the first cascade of any significance on the stream (therefore highest elevation). The last time I was here, the log was lodged on the right side of the pool. The flow from the rain the night before coming down the hill on the right pushed it away from the bank and repositioned it as you see it now.

"Superflow (Relatively) 2" The normal flow over these rocks is not much more than a trickle. However, after several weeks of higher than normal rainfall leading to saturated ground, it didn't take much rain to swell this stream.

Not Down Yet

This tree weathered a storm years earlier that nearly knocked it down. Since then, the tree has grown new vertical "mini-trunks" once again reaching upward. I think it easily represents "never give up."
