Evening Dune Field
View of the dune field from atop High Dune in Great Sand Dunes National Park. I found it amazing that there were large patches of prairie sunflowers growing in the valleys. But the play of evening light and shadow was the real star of the scene. It was hard climbing up - and it was worth every step.

While driving through Custer State Park in South Dakota, we came upon this lone bison walking toward us through the grass. The area had just experienced a snowfall and the scene was almost like it was scripted in a Hollywood production.
